In May 2000, the hut shown below was constructed in Japan for the purpose of testing the efficacy of ecotio2® coatings as an anti-fungi/anti-algae agent under poor environmental conditions.
After a 7 year exposure to the environment it was confirmed that the coated area had performed as expected and no occurrence of fungi,moss or mould was noted.
Fungi, including moulds and mildews, can damage the surfaces of both outdoor structures and indoor surfaces. Many fungi also produce allergens or toxins harmful to humans, animals and plants.
Even in areas without light, it is now possible to eliminate fungal and mould build up with the application of ecotio2®.
These ecotio2® Photocatalyst Coatings do not change the appearance of the surface and once applied prevent colonisation and growth of mould spores.
Shown are images of a mould control experiment where surfaces on and in a specifically built hut in a wet jungle were partially coated with our ecotio2® ultra coatings over a long periods. The mould prevention effect was proven.
